Gail Vicente is an artist and archivist based in Baguio City. She creates installations, drawings and paintings that explore existence, conflict, patterns, transitions, and everyday experiences. She integrates everyday domestic objects like rugs, clothes, blankets, and light to her works which are about home, comfort, and rest. Her choice of materials and objects is layered with pragmatic and metaphoric underpinnings, intermixing text and found objects to fortify the meaning-making potential of both materiality and language. She is fascinated with the simple activities of the commonplace. She often collaborates with other artist friends to develop and nurture her art practice.
