Yor William

After graduating from the University of the Philippines Baguio in 2008, Benguet-based visual artist, Yor William, has been honing his painting skills using oil, acrylic and watercolor. Over the years, he has accumulated a collection of his realist indigenous-themed and still life paintings. Some of his works were purchased and collected by local art enthusiasts local, and abroad. He is also a member of various arts groups in his locality.

His artworks are inspired by his daily life, experiences, thought process at a given time, the beauty in nature and the world, as well as his pride in his indigenous roots. With the chiaroscuro technique, he is determined to make his subjects pop at first glance. He wants to recreate the everyday life in his locality and the mundanity of the things around him by using this technique. He prefers warm tones in his artworks, but also uses cool tones which he blends with warm tones to create a middle point between the two tones. The cool tones, at times, become dominant but the warm tones remain.
